Celebrating Resilience and Unity: The 116th Baguio Charter Day

Every year on September 1st, the City of Baguio commemorates a significant milestone in its rich history Baguio Charter Day, marking the city’s formal establishment as a chartered city in 1909. In 2025, Baguio proudly celebrated its 116th Charter Day, not only to honor its origins but also to highlight the strength, diversity, and shared dreams of its people.

This year’s theme, “One Baguio: Diverse Roots, Shared Dreams,” beautifully encapsulated the spirit of the celebration. It emphasized unity amidst cultural diversity, and the importance of collective aspirations in shaping the city’s future. As the Summer Capital of the Philippines and a UNESCO Creative City, Baguio has long been a beacon of culture, creativity, and resilience.
